Puberty or is it?

As sort of a right-of-passage celebration, we have made a deal with our kids. As each of our children moved through puberty, we would all go out to dinner to celebrate. I know this sounds bizarre, but it was important to me that puberty not be a source of shame or embarrassment.

Well Mitchell has been eager to grow and pass into manhood; but nature has been slow to respond. The other day he came running into my room, dripping wet with only a towel on exclaiming, "We are going to dinner, get your money out". I asked him what he was talking about. He lifted up his armpit and shouted, "I've got a pit hair".

I, being the proud, momma, got out my glasses and looked for the lucky hair. I found a long, blond hair. Yet as I grabbed it, it was not attached to Mitchell. Upon closer examination, I told Mitchell, "Sorry bud, this is a Reggie hair". For those of you who do not know, Reggie is our 100 lb. dog. Luckily, Mitchell was a good sport and hopeful that the next blond hair in his armpit is actually his. I will keep you posted.
